Holiday Favorites

November 2, 2013

Halloween is over and you know what that means: the holiday season has begun! Yay! It really is the most wonderful time of the year! Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner so here are a few of my holiday favorites:

Scarves are so versatile and they really are the perfect addition to any fall/winter outfit. They're ideal for layering and are a great way to add the finishing touch to an otherwise boring outfit. Here are some of my favorites:

Lilly Pulitzer Murfee Scarf: I am absolutely in love with this Lilly wardrobe staple. While these scarves tend to be a bit pricey, you could always put it on your Christmas list!

Marley Lilly Monogrammed Scarf: If I could have it my way, everything in my wardrobe would be monogrammed (I may or may not have asked my mom to buy me an embroidery machine for Chrismas). I am a huge fan of Marley Lilly because it is basically the hub for all things monogramable. This soft, warm Marley Lilly scarf is a great way to personalize your look. Plus, you can order in in practically any color!

Starbucks holiday beverages have arrived and I couldn't be more excited (not to mention the signature festive red cups recently made their debut!). A few of my favorites are their gingerbread lattes, peppermint mochas, and salted caramel mochas. Bonus: if you'd rather save money for Christmas present than splurge on fancy coffees, make your own Starbucks-style peppermint mocha with this awesome recipe from the Food Network!

Pillsbury Christmas Cookies are addictive. Granted, they may not much of a novelty but all I know is you can't bake a batch and expect them to last longer than ten minutes. These cookies are the perfect holiday treat and they are so cute and festive. A friend of mine introduced me to a way to make these cookies even more irresistible: frosting! Then again, I don't know of many foods that frosting doesn't make better.

If you haven't been on Elf Yourself, you haven't felt the true joy of Christmas. This website will leave you in tears (of laughter)! It lets you upload pictures of friends, family, pets, etc. and transforms them into videos of dancing elves. The website doesn't open for about another week but I know I'll be on it as soon as it goes live! In the mean time, watch this video of how Elf Yourself was made behind the scenes!

I have so many more Holiday favorites but I will save them and post as Thanksgiving and Christmas approach. Until then, seasons greetings!
